Local Culture & Entertainment

Boston’s North Shore and its coastal communities have a varied and rich history. Gloucester was America’s first fishing community; Salem was the location of the infamous Witch Trials and one of the largest shipping centers; and Lynn was once the center of the American shoe industry. Beverly and Marblehead disagree over which town was the birthplace of the American Navy, and the town of Newburyport was known for making clipper ships.

This area is also a center for music and entertainment. With a wide array of venues hosting an eclectic mix of musicians, performers and presenters, you can have a great time listening to live music or catching a lecture on just about any day of the week. You can also look forward to attending one of the many events planned and hosted in the area.
